Listed below is a sampling of outreach ministries that take place at Morningside Lutheran Church. For more information on any of these ministries, please contact the Social Concerns committee chairperson or the church office.

Penny-a-Meal 

Donations to this program go to purchase school supplies for Siouxland children, gifts for the homebound, and military care packages. 

MLC Food Pantry

Congregation members donate food that benefits the less fortunate in Siouxland.

Soup Kitchen

Once a quarter MLC members go to the Soup Kitchen to help prepare and serve a nutritious meal to the less fortunate.

Crop Walk

Each fall, money is raised that goes to benefit local and world hunger. In the past MLC had over 30 walkers who raised $3900. Over $20,000 was raised in Sioux City.

Christmas Giving Tree

Each Christmas, gifts are given by congregation members that benefit 11 local agencies for 230 people throughout

Siouxland.

Prison Ministry

Monthly visits are made to area prisons in South Dakota and Iowa.

Nursing Home Visits

Congregation members bring videotapes of Sunday worship services to local nursing homes each week.

Thanksgiving Food Sacks   

Each November, MLC members fill brown grocery sacks with food that benefits local agencies.
