Oversight Committee
Morningside Lutheran Preschool is a ministry of Morningside Lutheran Church. The preschool is governed by a volunteer committee of seven individuals, three of whom are members of MLC, two of whom are parents of currently enrolled students (not required to be members of MLC) representing the M/W/F and T/TH classes. a MLC liaison and the preschool director. The committee meets throughout the year to conduct business related to the operations of the preschool

I have been the director/teacher of Morningside Lutheran Preschool since August, 2003. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood Endorsement. Prior to me working at the preschool, I was an in-home daycare provider and before that a substitute teacher.

I am married to Mark, who works for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and we have 3 boys. All of our children attend school at Sergeant Bluff-Luton.

I have a true passion for working with children and it is a joy for me to go to “work” every day. I also enjoy woodworking, spending time outside or in our pool during the summer and riding 4-wheelers with my family.

Teacher Assistant

I have been the Teacher Assistant at Morningside Lutheran Preschool since December, 2007.  I have a Level II Para-Educator Certficate which focuses on Early Childhood Education (preschool through grade 3).  Before coming to MLP, I worked at Terra in Sioux City and Pasco, Washington.  After my son was born, I became a stay-at-home mom and came to MLP after he started Kindergarten.

My husband, Rod, and I have 2 children.  In my time away from preschool; I enjoy being with my family, cheering on the Sioux City Musketeers hockey team, cooking and listening to music.

I am blessed to have a career that I love.  I am excited to come to work everyday and play and learn alongside our preschool friends!
